  • Stage I: National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP)/NSEC/NSEA

    The first stage examination, the National Standard Examination (NSE) is the organisational responsibility of the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). The academic responsibility for Chemistry and Biology rests with the Association of Chemistry Teachers (ACT) and the Association of Teachers in Biological Sciences (ATBS) respectively, while Physics, Astronomy and Junior Science are handled by IAPT itself. Every student aspiring to go through successive stages of the programme must apply for NSE


    All Indian students who are born on or after July 1, 1998 and, in addition, are in Class XII or lower as of November 30, 2017, are eligible to appear for NSE 2017.


    Since the syllabus for NSE is broadly equivalent to the senior secondary level (Class XI and Class XII) of CBSE, However, the questions in all levels of Olympiads (including NSEs) may be expected to be of a higher difficulty level than the board examinations.
